Allaire Campout - Sept 2006

September 2006 - Trip to Allaire State Park - The 2006-2007 camping season got off to a great start on September 16-17 with the Troop’s annual September trip to Allaire State Park. Seventeen Scouts attended the event that was highlighted with a trip to the beach. After setting up camp at the park’s group camping site, the decision was made to hang out, play a little touch football and have lunch while we waited to see if the weatherman’s forecast was accurate or not. The weather guys got it right this time, the threat of showers ended at around noon and the rest of the day was a spectacular 80 degrees. The rest of the afternoon was spent at the beach in nearby Bay Head. (see pictures in photo gallery. Hit the Slideshow button on the upper right on the screen!) Special thanks to Mr. Joe Hamilton who let us use his beach house in Bay Head for our base of operations, providing for us bathroom facilities, outdoor shower and his fridge to keep our dinners in. We got back to camp around 5:00 PM and it was dinner time. One patrol grilled up burgers while the other dined on marinated chicken. The Senior Patrol whipped up some serious sausage and pepper heroes. (fresh from Lutz’s under the watchful eye of Billy T.). The adults ate stale bread and tepid water. Thanks to Mr. Moschetta, Mr. Nascone, Mr. Hamilton, Mr. Polizzano, and Mr. Dries for providing transportation and supervision for the weekend.
